国会议员催签#
如果你是在加拿大境内提交的签证申请，那么恭喜你，你会比境外申请者多一个催签途径：国会议员(Members of Parliament，简称MP)催签。
在加拿大，众议院的核心职责之一便是代表人民监督政府。加拿大移民局（IRCC）属于行政分支，受到众议院监督，因此多少会给国会议员一分薄面。
国会议员催签效果会比我们自己去会好。不过在找国会议员之前，需要先明确自己有合理理由催签：比如签证申请已经超过了「平均处理时长」，或者临时有紧急情况需要快速下签。
第一步：找到你的议员#
打开「找议员」（Find Members of parliament）的官网，输入你居住地的6位数邮编

第二步：给议员发邮件#
在邮件里，你可以简单介绍下自己的情况，强调签证迟迟没出结果对你生活的影响，包括精神上的和经济上的。你还可以表达对加拿大移民局（IRCC）工作效率的不满，辅以你等待时间与IRCC自己公布的「平均处理时长」的对比。请求议员介入，了解审核进度，并进行催签。
在邮件中，需要附上签证相关的个人信息，如姓名、护照号码、出生日期、UCI、签证申请号等。还需要附上居住地证明，比如带有邮编的有效证件（驾照、医保卡等）。通俗来讲，就是告诉议员，我是您选区的人，您可得罩着我，IRCC那帮人太不干人事，您得给我主持公道。

第三步：写授权书#
通常你会在一周内收到国会议员的回复。不过也别太激动，因为这类回信都是议员的助理以其名义写的。回信会要求你填写一份授权书。因为你的签证申请里有个人信息，即便是国会议员，也只能有你的授权才有资格进行查询。
有的议员需要你线下去其办公室填写授权书，有的允许你打印表格，填写并扫描后回邮件进行授权。
第四步：等议员问询IRCC#
拿到你的授权后，议员助手会以议员的名义问询IRCC。IRCC会反馈该签证申请目前的进展。除了进入安调等少数情况，大部分时候议员问询都能起到催签的效果。比如你的申请被签证官遗漏了、或者遭遇不合理的拖延，这些情况通常能被迅速解决。之所以安调是例外，因为安调意味着案子进入了其他行政机构，如加拿大边境局（CBSA）或加拿大安全局（CSIS），不在IRCC控制范围内了。技术上讲，CBSA和CSIS也可求助国会议员催签，但从实际情况来看，作用非常有限。
